My wife overheard me complimenting another woman and now all of my meals are too spicy?

We attended a dinner party at the home of my wife's coworker, Susan, and I excused myself to the kitchen to refill our drinks. I looked on the kitchen counter and noticed a spice rack that contained at least 48 different spices on it. A collection of rare and exotic spices, some of which I'd never even heard of before. They'd been used too! Not a single spice was full. In fact, a few of them were ready to be refilled. Susan had her head buried in the fridge and I said, "That's quite a rack you have there Susan." Susan pulled her head out of the fridge and followed my gaze to her ample spice rack. She smiled and said, "You know Melvin, you can learn a lot about a woman just by looking at the spices she keeps on hand. Would you like to take a closer look at my rack?" At that moment I noticed my wife standing in the doorway of the kitchen. I tried to explain but she didn't want to hear it. Now, I can't eat my wife's cooking. Instead of a dash of oregano, it's five tablespoons. One bay leaf becomes an entire jar of bay leaves. The spices are too much. This morning I could have sworn I tasted celery seed on my toast. Celery Seed! I enjoy cooking very much but my wife has refused to let me so much as boil water since "the incident". I've apologized a hundred times already but I can't take it anymore and I need help on how to handle the situation.
